NOT SURE HOW TO SHAPE YOUR BROWS?
If you want to know where your brows should start and finish, or where the arch should sit, Lauren Hogsden, a senior make-up artist at Benefit, can help. ‘Use your brow pencil to determine the highest peak of your arch, place the pencil at an angle from the outside corner of your nose through the centre of your pupil,’ she says. ‘Using a brow pencil, mark this point. Then hold the pencil diagonally from the outside corner of the nose to the outside corner of your eye, this will tell you where your brow should end, so mark this point too.’ Now you’ve got a shape to work with, you can use it as a rough guide when filling in your brows with make-up.
Brows looking a little sparse?
Tinting is a great low-maintenance way to make brows look fuller, as the semipermanent dye will pick up tiny, fair hairs you didn’t even know were there. Plenty of salons offer this service, which costs from £10, with results lasting for around six weeks. Or, get the same effect at home with Maybelline Tattoo Brow Long Lasting Tint, £12.99, Boots. Apply a thick layer to clean brows, let it dry for 20 minutes and peel off. Untinted brows will need extra help with a soft brow pencil. The key to pencilling natural-looking brows is a light hand, working in hair-like strokes to fill in any gaps. Anything too heavy at the ‘start’ of your brow can look harsh, so keep that area light and fluffy, instead adding definition to the arch and ends.
