The Leadership Imperative

While accountancy and finance play a critical role in a business enterprise, it is the leaders and managers who shape the corporate vision and drive growth. The leadership culture symbolises an organisation’s character as well as its ability to set goals, acquire new clients and markets, take decisive action in overcoming challenges, beat competition, and inspire employees.

In addition to having extraordinary skillssets, leaders and managers must also possess a high degree of professionalism, a positive mindset, and the willingness and capacity to go the extra mile.

Effective leadership is the ability to take charge of strategy, operation, and implementation, doing what is right for the organisation and its most important stakeholders—employees.

Recruiters or HR managers look for the above qualities while hiring people, even at the entry level, so as to nurture young professionals to become leaders of tomorrow.

While passion, commitment, decisiveness, and team-building are essential qualities, there are other characteristics that can help leaders and managers maximise their strengths and develop a great management style. Here are seven soft skills that will enable managers to steer the ship effortlessly, ensure integrated and harmonious functioning of the organisation, and attain new heights of success:
