But thanks to the drop in temperature, spending more time indoors and breathing dry air, we're also more likely to suffer from the sniffles at this time of year. HEADACHE
Inflammation and pressure in the sinuses from mucus buildup can cause headaches. Nutritionist Cara Shaw*recommends using fresh or dried lavender to alleviate symptoms. ‘Steeped in hot water, it releases aromatic compounds that help relax tension headaches,’ says Cara. ‘Lean over the cup with a towel over your head and inhale.’ Magnesium can help, too. ‘It relaxes blood vessels and reduces headache frequency,’ says dietician Lola Biggs**.
