Gunawardane takes five as Congleton net away victory

CONGLETON seconds wasted little time in wrapping up an eight-wicket win at Sandbach 2nd XI in NSSCL Division Seven.

D Gunawardane’s 5-9 and 3-2 from | Simcock sent Sandbach sliding to 54 all out.

Congleton then had J Bates’ unbeaten 28 to thank for completing their routine win. Hanford seconds prevailed on their trip to Porthill Park fifths.

Hanford took first use and managed to stick 193-8 on the board.

Zahir Ahmed (44), Zakariya Zaheer (40), Aagib Shamim (24) and Tasharat Ajaib (20) were all in good form to help the Hanford cause.

Paul Allman helped himself to 4-35, with Andrew Marriott chipping in with a couple of wickets.
