Call for better monitoring of disused buildings
'DEEPLY TROUBLING': Fire services in Market Street, Longton, on Saturday
CALLS have been made for an 'urgent review' of how empty buildings are monitored after yet another town centre blaze.
Firefighters were sent to Market Street in Longton on Saturday to reports of 'smoke coming from a building'.
The incident at what firefighters have described as a 'derelict building' was the second fire on the same stretch in a matter of months.
