PORT Vale made it a hat-trick of League One victories with a 2-0 win at Barnsley on Saturday. MIKE BAGGALEY looks as the talking points from Oakwell...

SUPER Vale away. Darren Moore's side made it three league wins on the spin with a classic performance on the road at Barnsley.

A STATEMENT WIN Vale's third league win on the spin was also their most impressive. Exeter and Mansfield are expected to be in the bottom eight or so clubs that Darren Moore's side have to take points off. But Barnsley are expected to be competing for the playoffs and they had taken ten points from their four league games at Oakwell so far this season. They are a good side, into their fourth season in League One after relegation from the Championship, and they won pretty comfortably at Vale Park in the FA Cup first round last season.

Eleven months on, Vale made them look ordinary with a performance that seemed to say Moore’s team are at home at this level.
