THE Karnataka High Court directed the release of BJP MLC CT Ravi, acknowledging that his arrest appeared to be illegal.
Justice MG Uma granted interim relief, ordering Ravi's immediate release from custody, provided he cooperates with the investigation when required.
MLC Ravi, arrested by Belagavi police on Thursday, faced allegations of sexual harassment and insulting the modesty of Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar.
