Huge solar farm planned close to Hadrian's Wall

PLANS have been submitted for a huge new solar farm close to Hadrian's Wall.
The proposals also include a battery energy storage system (BESS) and associated infrastructure, covering a total of 164 acres of land near the village of Fourstones - equivalent to just under 94 football pitches.
If approved, the solar farm would generate up to 4.9 megawatts of solar energy - enough to power 14,970 homes a year for a period of 40 years. However, the site is just 1.39km from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall and just 600 metres from the border of Northumberland National Park.
