Gibson gives Argyle a boost ahead of clash with Watford
The Herald

FIT-AGAIN defender Lewis Gibson is set to be included in the Plymouth Argyle squad for their return to Championship action after the international break when they take on Watford at Home Park on tomorrow night.
Gibson has missed the Pilgrims’ last four matches due to a thigh injury which he picked up during the 1-0 defeat away to Millwall on October 23. He has trained for the past couple of days and now head coach Wayne Rooney has to decide whether to start him against Watford or name him among the substitutes.
In Gibson’s absence, Julio Pleguezuelo has slotted well into the left side centre-back position for the two most recent matches, the 1-0 home win against Portsmouth and the 1-1 draw at Derby County.
Gibson had been having an excellent season for Argyle until his injury. Rooney said: “He has trained the last couple of days. He should be available, whether or not he starts the game that’s a different question. He has looked okay.
The Pilgrims’ boss added: “He has to come back and train well. I think that’s important, all the players know that. It gives us another option. I think he was having a fantastic season before his injury so you hope he comes back at that same level. Then, of course, you have decisions to make. I’m delighted he’s back fit, and wait and see whether he plays or he’s on the bench on Friday.”
