PLYMOUTH poet Lesley Curwen’s fourth book of verse deals with the problems caused by microplastics and has been widely praised - including from Rishi Dastidar who reviews poetry for The Guardian.

The new collection Permanence is a collaboration with chemist and poet Dr Stephen Paul Wren on the subject of microplastics: the fragments of plastic waste which are found in sea, air and the blood of humans and animals.

It is a series of startling, surreal poems that dive into the unseen molecular world, to trace the role of plastic from wonder substance to global menace.
