City to launch pet dog microchipping project with GPS tracker

The Cebu City Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries (DVMF) is set to roll out in July the pilot phase of microchippiong project to enhance pet monitoring and public safety.

Through the initiative, registered pet dogs in Cebu City will soon be equipped with microchips featuring tracking technology.
The program is designed to promote responsible pet ownership, assist in locating lost animals, and improve overall safety within the city.
"This is an exciting next step for our city," said City Veterinarian Dr. Alice Utlang through the City's Public Information Office (PIO).
