Vistara’s new retirement and separation schemes for non-flying staff, similar to those offered by Air India, aim to address the impact of the upcoming merger, affecting about 600 employees

VISTARA TO CUT NON-FLYING STAFF AHEAD OF AIR INDIA MERGER

In anticipation of its merger with Air India, Vistara has introduced Voluntary Retirement Schemes (VRS) and Voluntary Separation Schemes (VSS) for its nonflying staff, according to sources. The VRS is available to employees who have completed at least five years of service, while the VSS targets those who have not yet reached this milestone. Both schemes are open exclusively to permanent non-flying employees, with applications accepted until August 23.

These schemes closely resemble those recently offered by Air India, also under the Tata Group’s management. However, pilots, cabin crew, and employees holding specific licenses required for operational duties are excluded from these schemes.
