Historic schools announce their plans to merge

TWO historic Surrey schools have announced plans to merge.

Hoe Bridge School and Greenfield School will become one, creating a co-educational school for pupils aged from six months to 16.

Pupils will automatically join the new school at the start of the next academic year, which will be known as Hoe Bridge School.

The independents in Woking have around 800 pupils between them, and have both been ranked as excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Students tend to come from the surrounding area, and data from tests shows that they tend to perform better than the national average.

The new school will be spread across the current Hoe Bridge and Greenfield sites which are just short of a 20-minute walk from each other.
