WOKING BOSS WANTS DEPLETED SQUAD TO CONTINUE UNBEATEN RUN

- By MICHAEL REEVES

WOKING manager Neal Ardley is hoping to have some of his injured players back for the final game of the National League season on Bank Holiday Monday at Sutton United.

The Cards were only able to name four players on the bench for their last home game of the campaign in 2-2 draw with Eastleigh.

And while Woking had already ensured their safety, Ardley admitted that it had been an incredibly tough week in the build to Saturday's match.

In his post-match interview, the Woking boss said that they had gone from having 22 fit outfield players to just 14, while number one keeper Will Jaaskelainen had also been ruled out with a thumb injury.

"It has been a tough week," Ardley told the club's website.

"The [Easter] weekend games where we secured our safety took their toll.

"Will Jaaskelainen's thumb, Inih [Effiong] and Timi [Odusina] on the Friday [went down injured], Dale [Gorman] and Chicks [Adam Chicksen] with season ending injuries on the Monday.
