World order collapses when a bully breaks rules

DONALD Trump's decision to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro before declaring control of the country should concern anyone who believes in democracy and the rule of law.

Well in that case the people of Canada, Panama, Denmark, Iran and Greenland could all reasonably expect to be next.

Even if you despise Maduro's allegedly corrupt regime, no US president has the legal right to seize another nation’s leader and announce control of a sovereign state and its natural resources.

That isn't democracy or liberation. It's the language of coups, colonialism, bullying and naked military aggression.
