SPIDER-MAN has apologised for closing down Glasgow to swing through the city centre, shooting the latest instalment of his Marvel franchise.

Tom Holland and his film crew turned several streets into New York in August to film action sequences filled with American flags, yellow taxis and NYPD cars.

Huge crowds gathered to watch the movie star, who plays Peter Parker, performing aerial stunts amid explosions and car crashes.

London-born Holland, 29, told the Sunday Mail: "If possible I am always a fan of using real locations rather than a film studio, and Glasgow gave us that opportunity.
