AMERICA sends billions of pounds worth of military equipment to Israel every year.

Nobody should be in any doubt that gives Donald Trump unique leverage to force Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the bombing and blockage of Gaza where 60,000 people have been killed and two million now face starvation amid the rubble of their obliterated homes.

The October 7 attacks were a disgraceful and barbaric outrage from which Israel had every right to defend itself and work to have hostages released.

But Netanyahu's barbaric military campaign has moved way beyond defence and is likely destroying any chance of a secure and peaceful future for the region.
