HONG KONG MISSION Colin Cairney is eyeing big career boost
IT’S along way from Alloa Town Hall to the dazzling lights of Hong Kong.
But Scottish boxing starlet Colin Cairney wants to put the KO in Kowloon after being fast-tracked from obscurity for a crack at a prestigious WBO belt.
The welterweight, 21, is an elegant powerhouse with a perfect record since turning pro two years ago.
Now Colin has jetted 6000 miles to the Far East for the fight of his life this Friday to claim the WBO's international youth belt, earmarked for those with big-bout potential.
‘After winning his last three by knockout, promoters and fight fans are warming to the rangy kid from Stirling, who has been obsessed with the sport since first walking into a gym aged nine.
