COWIE: FATE IS SOMEHOW STILL IN OWN HANDS

DON COWIE reckons floundering Ross County are fortunate to still have their Premiership fate in their own hands - despite a seven-game losing streak.

The Staggies are in the relegation play-off spot, just three points off the bottom, after Saturday's 2-1 defeat at last-placed St Johnstone.

Even though they have failed to pick up a point since their win over Kilmarnock on March 1, County know victories in their last two matches - away to Dundee on Wednesday night and at home to Motherwell on Sunday will lift them out of the bottom two to keep them in the top flight.

“It’s still in our own hands,” stressed manager Cowie.

“It shouldn’t be, in terms of the run of form that we’ve been on, but that’s the carrot that we’ve got to dangle in terms of the next two games.

“But I can’t keep saying it, we have to go and act upon it and win a game of football.

“And that starts on Wednesday.”
