Could Reform be the big election winner?

THIS time next week, we'll have had our chance to go to the polls and cast our votes in the Lancashire County Council elections.

If, like me, you're one of the approximately 30% of people who plan to vote next week, I hope you know who you're going to vote for because I don’t.

A week out from the elections, I've only had one election leaflet through the door, I won't say from which party, and even that told me very little about what that party would do for Lancashire.

This isn’t a criticism of the politicians standing for election - we should be grateful that politicians are prepared to put their heads above the parapet and stand for election in the first place.

Very little party cash is diverted to local elections by political parties, and I know from talking to local politicians that volunteers to go door-to-door trying to engage people in elections are harder and harder to come by.
