Care home move was best decision

Dear Editor, I believe I may be rare amongst care home residents, in that I personally took the decision to move from my own home into a nursing home.

I found at, then, 98 years of age, while my life was full and with many around happy to help, and my mobility reasonable, I was aware it was deteriorating.

I needed to make decisions for my future. I wanted peace of mind, safety and security.

It was the very best decision I could have made and I feel urged to write and inform the public at large, that the general perception of nursing homes is far from the truth.
