Extraction shooters seem to be popping up everywhere now, though the very nature of their high risk/reward gameplay loop makes them a potentially difficult genre to mould into mainstream success.

Arc Raiders is here to give that a try.

The core loop of an extraction shooter is this: gear up, explore a map for loot and get out with your life intact before your last ride home departs.

If you die, you lose everything you brought with you and everything you found.

If you survive, you have loot to sell and craft with, so you can try again with better gear.
