BUT NO MOVE YET FOR FOREST PLAYER AS EDU LINKS CONTINUE

- By LEIGH CURTIS

FLAMENGO have not made a move for Nottingham Forest defender Jair Cunha as the club continues to be linked with Edu, the Reds' Global Head of Football.

According to a report by Bola, Cunha is among the club's scouting reports but no negotiations have started over a move.

No talks are expected to take place as Flamengo continue to be linked with a move for Edu, whose departure from Forest is yet to be formally announced.

Edu has been earmarked as a contender to take up a similar position with the Brazilian side but no talks have taken place with him regarding potential signings.

Behind the scenes, director Jose Boto remains in his position for the time being and despite the continued speculation surrounding Edu, there has been no official change to Boto's role.

According to Talksport journalist Alex Crook, Edu has already left his role at Forest and he wrote: "Edu has effectively left #NFFC already.

"Club wanted to keep it under wraps to focus on survival fight but reliable sources confirm he is no longer an active employee."

Doubts over Edu's future emerged this week after reports suggested he was staying away from the club's training facility.
