AN ART exhibition is being held on Saturday and Sunday (June 14 and 15) at All Saints with Holy Trinity Church in Steeple Row in town.

The art and music event celebrates the cultural diversity of the Loughborough area and inspirational lives of people of all faiths, or none, from home and around the globe.

The weekend celebrations include:

■ An art exhibition which has involved around 550 children from four local schools; Cobden Primary School, Rendell Primary School, Loughborough Church of England Primary School and Rawlins Academy. They have explored the theme of 'Inspirational people' and have chosen their own 'heroes' from across the globe. The focus of this project was to enable children and young people to reflect on the sources of inspiration in their lives through art and writing. They have included people from their own friends and families as well as Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King and Simone Biles.

The schools work was led by Lat Blaylock who said that 'the focus is on enabling children and young people to reflect at depth on the sources of inspiration in their own lives' and that the project unlocked 'profound thinking about what it means to inspire and be inspired.'
