Wet wet wet - November rainfall ‘was exceptional’

Sunshine totals were close to average for this month. The first half the month was exceptionally mild with warm winds from the Azores present for most of the time. It wasn’t until week three did the weather cool off with a northerly blast of air from the Arctic, which brought a few snowflakes in places but no settling snow. We recorded seven air frosts during this period before the milder conditions returned at the month's end.

Average afternoon temperatures reached 11c at both stations which was 0.9c above normal. The warmest day was the 5th when I recorded 17.2c in Mountsorrel with the coldest day being recorded by Dean Whittaker at his Hinckley station at 4.3c on the 20th in the cold third week
