Fermanagh men move closer to historic first Ulster win

ULTAN Kelm is happy to put off work on his battered hip in a bid to help Erne Gaels make Ulster club SFC history.

No Fermanagh club has ever won the competition but Belleek outfit Gaels are now just two steps from heaven.

They beat Kingscourt Stars after extra-time last weekend to set up a glamour semifinal against Kilcoo on Saturday week.

It remains to be seen whether Fermanagh star Kelm will feature in Armagh after coming off last weekend with apparent cramp.

He missed most of the year with a hip injury and Gaels boss Declan Bonner included him in a list of players he's concerned about ahead of the Kilcoo match.

But Kelm will feature if at all possible having already parked planned rehab work to help Erne Gaels regain the Fermanagh title.

He made it back for the drawn county final and replay, scoring 1-5 across those two games, before hitting Kingscourt for 1-1.

"I haven't played much football at all," said Kelm, who last featured for Fermanagh in the Round 2 league win over Antrim.
