Sports star a suspect in brutal attack

A SPORTS star is suspected of being involved in an attack that left a man with serious injuries in the early hours of Saturday morning.

We have learned that the figure and another man are being investigated over the attack on a street in Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Neither the sports star nor his associate have been arrested by gardai investigating the attack, but sources have confirmed that they are both regarded as suspects.
