Album gave me kick

Taylor Swift says recording her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, gave her the energy boost she needed to complete her epic Eras Tour.

The star admits she felt physically exhausted during the 149-date world tour, which concluded last December.

But she revealed that putting together Showgirl, which sparked an outbreak of Taylormania when it was released yesterday, was the perfect way to let off steam.

She said: “I was so physically exhausted from the shows but also mentally and emotionally stimulated by making this music.

“It got me to the point where I was so excited to step back on stage because I knew I had this secret project I was working on.”
