Monk in striped swipe at ex-TD's World Bank job

DAIL hopeful Gerry Hutch had a dig at former minister Paschal Donohoe's big job at the World Bank - when he appeared in a bizarre new video dressed like the Hamburglar.

The notorious crime figure dressed in black and white stripes like the McDonald's comic burglar mascot as he made his appeal for votes in the upcoming Dublin Central by-election.

The Monk appealed to the public to register to vote, as he told his social media followers: "The importance of voting is very important."

The election candidate took to Instagram on the first day of the Cheltenham Racing Festival, saying his "tip of the day" is to register to vote.

In a video wearing a striped Aber-crombie jumper, The Monk said: "You probably don't realise it some of you out there, but it's very important.

"A vote for me will get you the truth and anything that happens in the Dail I'll be there to tell you the truth."
