JACK BRENNAN and his family head to Emerald Park in Ashbourne, Co Meath, for some festive cheer

et it snow, let it snow, let it snow as Dean Martin once sang, or in this instance... let it rain, let it rain, let it rain as we headed for a day of Christmas cheer at Emerald Park's Jingle Fest spectacular.

With an extremely excited two-year-old and six-year-old in tow, not even a tropical typhoon could have dampened our spirits as we headed down the road to experience all the winter wonderland has to offer.

As soon as we walked through the twinkling Festive Fairy Woods Light Tunnel at the entrance and saw the wonder in our girls' eyes we forgot about the weather.

Our first stop was the Enchanted Entertainment Tent to get our bearings and dry off a little. We found an oasis with hot chocolate being served.

We grabbed some marshmallows for our drinks and sat down to warm ourselves up and decorate gingerbread men with some live entertainment going on in the background thanks to some very talented singers and dancers.

Having all agreed that mine was the best, we moved on to the arts and crafts stand.

This was great fun and we got to paint our own Christmas decorations (now hanging proudly on our tree at home).
