Kent resist comeback to make a treble of trophies

KENT'S county rugby players once again showed that they are the dominant force in the Bill Beaumont Senior Men's County Championship as they wrapped up a hat-trick of titles with a 39-32 win over Yorkshire.

Going into the game against Yorkshire on Saturday, Kent were the reigning champions having beaten their opponents by just one point last year to retain the crown they won in 2023 after defeating Lancashire.

But unlike last year, Kent had to wait for their game, they didn't get out on to the hallowed turf at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham until just before kick-off due to the England XV-France XV match.

And unlike the international game that came before them, there was no protection from the searing heat.

But that did not stop Kent from looking dangerous with ball in hand and applying scoreboard pressure from the boot of Tonbridge Juddians' Sam Evans.
