Alphonse stripped of Cesarewitch
THE BHA has defended its handling of whip offences after Cesarewitch 'winner' Alphonse Le Grande was thrown out yesterday- three days after the big race.
The Whip Review Committee issued the sanction after confirming jockey Jamie Powell had hit his mount 10 times, four over the allowed limit, at Newmarket.
