Mason: It was right time to end Chelsea affair
MASON MOUNT admits he knew his Chelsea career was over several months ago.
And the England ace didn’t have to think twice about taking the chance to relaunch his career at Manchester United.
Mount, who had been at Chelsea since the age of six, has joined United in a £60m deal.
The 24-year-old revealed he knew he had no future at Stamford Bridge well before the end of last season – and made his mind up to join United as soon as he learned of their interest.
The attacking midfielder said: “Several months ago, I think it became clear that I wasn’t in Chelsea’s plans moving forward. Once I knew United were involved, my decision was made up.
