Labour leader urges criminal investigation

ANAS Sarwar yesterday urged the Crown to probe those running the country when patients died from infections caught on wards.

The Scottish Labour leader said John Swinney, Nicola Sturgeon and a senior managers of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde should be investigated.

That board finally accepted last week there was a "causal connection" between the state of the buildings on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus which led to infections and contributed to deaths.

Sturgeon was health secretary when the hospital was commissioned and had become first minister by the time it opened.
