Ashcroft's road ban & £3k fine in speed case

ROCKER Richard Ashcroft has received a six-month driving ban and near £3000 fine for speeding.

The former Verve singer, 54, was caught travelling 8mph over the 40mph speed limit in his £120,000 Mercedes G-Wagon on February 19 last year.

He was criticised by District Judge Daniel Benjamin for putting other road users at risk of harm when driving on the elevated section of the M4 in Brentford, west London.
