A TRUE TURBO HERO

The Turbo S is the most powerful 911 ever produced, but what else does the 992.2 generation offer besides sheer horsepower, cool styling and an empty wallet?

A TRUE TURBO HERO

PORSCHE'S Turbo has always acted as the flagship model in the 911 road car range. For the latest 992.2-generation car, the firm has introduced all manner of changes to make it even more potent.

WHAT'S NEW?

While the exterior of the latest Turbo S may not have changed all that much, there are plenty of innovations hiding underneath. The whole car is wider and there are aerodynamic systems throughout. Those slats at the front of the car, for instance, can actively open and close depending on air-flow requirements, and can shut up tight when it's raining, too.

There's a new nose-lift system, too, which works more quickly than before, so you can raise the front of the car in seconds. It'll help if you drive the Turbo S around a speed bump-riddled city, that's for sure.

WHAT'S UNDER THE BONNET?

Porsche has introduced its learnings from the new GTS to bring hybrid technology to the Turbo S. In fact, you now get a trio of e-motors accompanying the 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six to help boost performance. Two help the turbochargers spool up more quickly - eliminating lag - while a third is in the gearbox.
