STARMER HITS NEW POPULARITY LOW IN WALES
Daily Post
|January 30, 2026
KEIR STARMER's popularity in Wales has hit a new low with nearly three quarters of people saying he is doing a bad job, poll findings show.
-
People in Wales are overwhelmingly negative about the performances of the Labour administrations in both Westminster and Cardiff Bay, the data from pollsters YouGov shows. Some 74% of adults in Wales believe the Prime Minister is doing a bad job compared to 15% who think he is doing a good job.
Rishi Sunak and Boris Johnson both received more favourable judgements from the Welsh public in YouGov polls during their leaderships.
Dylan Difford of pollsters YouGov said the findings were based on a survey of 1,220 adults in Wales, adding: "Even among 2024 Welsh Labour voters, just 33% think Starmer is doing a good job, while 61% feel he’s doing badly."
