The former Manchester City assistant won't be in the away dugout at the Etihad tomorrow after a messy and abrupt ending at the Blues, with Strasbourg chief Liam Rosenior waiting in the wings to take over.

Guardiola usually refuses to discuss managerial exits but did speak up for the qualities of his former colleague.

The change at Chelsea will make it more difficult for him to prepare for the game, although the City boss will not have to contend with a coach who has masterminded victories over Paris SaintGermain,

Barcelona and Liverpool in recent months.
