The celebration holds deeper significance, as Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Ltd. (SLICGL), the largest government-backed insurer, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, reiterates the solemn pledge to protect over four million schoolchildren through the Suraksha Insurance Scheme.

Even in the event of surgery for children, Suraksha covers students' hospitalization and surgery costs up to a set annual limit. They are able to continue their education, easing the financial burden on parents.
