Nuwanidu and Avishka puts SSC on top

A quickfire 83 ball unbeaten knock of 110 inclusive of eight boundaries and eight sixes by Nuwanidu Fernando and a half ton by Avishka Fernando saw SSC end the first day on top against Galle CC in their Major Club Tier ‘B” cricket encounter played at Reid Avenue.

Galle CC taking first lease of the wicket was bowled out for a low score of 118 with Promod Madushan and Prabath Jayasuriya doing the damage and SSC in their turn ended the day with a formidable score of 308 for 7.

Leo CC thanks to Hirun Sigera and Ashen Mendis who together shared an unbroken stand of 135 runs for the second wicket dominated proceedings against Moratuwa SC at Welisara. The matches will be continued today.
