Faith leaders in Telangana, Sangareddy, Jangaon and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts to Combat Child Marriage on Akshaya Tritiya.

Spandana Cultural Organisation for Progressive Education (SCOPE) and faith leaders from different faiths have come together to create mass awareness campaign to ensure that no child marriage takes place during the upcoming wedding season, especially on Akshaya Tritiya.

Faith leaders and SCOPE together declared that child marriage is a serious crime, and anyone involved—including those solemnising or facilitating the marriage—can be held legally accountable and face imprisonment.

The overwhelming and unprecedented support from faith leaders is expected to ensure that this Akshaya Tritiya will be marked by zero child marriages across Sangareddy, Jangaon and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts, Telangana reinforcing the community's commitment to protecting children's rights.

SCOPE is a grassroots organization working on Child Marriage Free India (CMFI), a flagship campaign spearheaded by Just Rights for Children (JRC)—a network of over 250 NGOs working across 416 districts to safeguard child rights and end child marriage across India.
