Coaching Hype vs. Reality : Students Misguided by Unrecognized Institutions in the Name of IIT Preparation

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the dream destination for thousands of engineering aspirants across the country, offer a few specialized seats under various categories including those catering to metrorail students. However, this niche opportunity is being exploited by a few private institutions under the guise of providing IIT coaching - leading to financial, academic, and emotional setbacks for many students and their families.

Institutes like Chaitanya, Narayana, Nine Education, and Resonance have become household names in the realm of IIT coaching, promising top-tier faculty and guaranteed results. Yet behind the advertisements and glossy brochures lies a growing concern: the commercialization of education at the expense of students' futures.

One such example raising eyebrows is Nine Education, which reportedly runs colleges without any formal recognition from authorized educational boards. Despite lacking accreditation, they aggressively promote themselves as IIT coaching centers, often claiming that "IIT faculty" teach their students — a claim that remains largely unverified and misleading. Students are lured in with dreams of elite engineering seats, only to be met with substandard academic support, overwhelming pressure, and in many cases, complete academic derailment.
