Brewers will not be taking St Albans lightly as they begin FA Cup quest

GARY Bowyer knows that younger players may not quite look at the FA Cup with the same reverence and romance that older people do - but he thinks their competitive spirit can compensate for that.
Ian Culverhouse was sacked last week as St Albans manager.
The Burton Albion manager has also been passing on his own FA memories enthusiastically to his young charges as the Brewers get ready to set out on the FA Cup trail with a first round tie at home to St Albans City today (3pm).
It was not a draw to excite the TV companies but it has excited St Albans followers and more than 600 of them are expected to be at the Pirelli today to cheer on the Isthmian League side.
Tenth in the Premier Division table after relegation from National League South last season, they have parted company with Ian Culverhouse and a familiar figure to Burton fans, centre-half Michael Bostwick, will be interim boss today, as well as retaining a playing role.
Bowyer is not taking St Albans lightly at all and missed the Brewers' fans' forum a fortnight ago to watch them beat Banbury United 1-0 in a replay to set up today’s tie.
