'MOST FINANCIALLY VULNERABLE CONSTITUENCY IN UK' - REPORT

- DAVID BENTLEY News Reporter

PERRY Barr has been named the most 'financially vulnerable' constituency in the UK.

Research has found that more than 40% of its residents are claiming benefits, more than triple the regional average. In addition, a fifth are turning to payday loans and buy-now-pay-later schemes to get by, the highest rate in the country, and more than two-thirds had less than £1,000 in savings.

The newly published study from Lowell and Opinium identified Perry Barr as suffering the worst impact of the cost-of-living crisis in the UK. It also found that the Midlands is one of the hardest hit regions in the country as a whole.
