'It's time for Kate to have a bit of fun'

Celebrity Traitors star Kate Garraway is finally open to finding love again, two years after the tragic loss of her beloved husband, Derek Draper.

The presenter has been single ever since Derek passed away on 3 January 2024, after a long battle with Covid-related complications.

Kate, who said earlier this year that Derek "would want me to be grabbing life", recently opened up about the possibility of dating again, telling Great Company podcast host Jamie Laing, "Well I wouldn't like to think that I'd never had romantic love in my life again. I think that would be rather a sad way to go through life, wouldn't it?"

She then joked, "Talk to your mates, find out if any of their dads are single - that's your task, Jamie."

Now a source close to the star has told new that Kate, 58, is "desperate to find love again", saying, "This is a new year for Kate. She never thought she would be able to [date], but she goes out with friends, they're all married, and she would like to have a partner to enjoy that with her."

But the TV favourite, who is mum to Darcey, 19, and Billy, 16, has spoken out about feeling fearful of dipping her toes into the dating pool again.
