After quitting Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly is now having to cope with big adjustments in her career and personal life, a source tells New
Fresh from leaving her job as co-host of Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly is at a major crossroads — not just professionally but also personally, with her marriage now undergoing what's been described as a “reset”.
After more than two decades as one of the BBC's highest-profile TV hosts, quitting Strictly marks a sudden shift in pace for the 56-year-old star — and no one is more aware of the challenges that lay ahead for Tess than her husband of 22 years, BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay.
“As Vernon keeps telling Tess, she’s had the most amazing career on one of the top shows, on one of the top TV channels — she's done so well,” says a source. “He keeps reminding her of that, but she doesn’t want to feel she's retired. She doesn’t want to feel like she’s hung her boots up.
“She is sad about leaving Strictly and was tearful about it, but life changes.”With Tess now spending more time at home, family life with Vernon and their two daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16, is also likely to look rather different.
“It's going to be a real reset for them,” claims our source.
“Vernon's got a very busy schedule now and Tess is going to have more time on her hands, so there's going to be a lot of adjustment for her.
“It's a major change in the balance of family life, and it's going to be [a case of] getting used to that change.”
With Vernon, 51, travelling from the family home in Buckinghamshire to host his Radio 2 show in London, as well as regularly co-hosting
