Following the Speed 400, Triumph has now launched the Scrambler 400 X with a very aggressive price, is this the middle-weight on/off-road bike we've been waiting for?

The Triumph-Bajaj combination's 400cc platform is a deliberate and measured strike at the middleweight modern classic space. The Speed 400 came first and set the tone for a noticeably individual middleweight that claimed a space in the segment without needing a long-stroke motor. From there on out the playbook is clear, take a great platform and build it to suit the sub-cultures that have been commonplace in the segment. Alongside the Speed 400 Bajaj had also unveiled the Scrambler 400 X which had every enthusiast foaming at the mouth. Naturally, this meant some palate cleansing would be needed between letting us try both bikes, lest the authenticity of the Speed gets lost in the hype. Nonetheless, we rode the Speed and we loved it, and now it's time to try the Scrambler 400 X and see how modular this platform is.
