The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok unfolds as a journey through space and art, balancing tradition and modernity in every detail.

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok made its much awaited debut in December 2024. Set within One Bangkok, a holistically integrated district, the 216m-high hotel, part of the Luxury Group portfolio by Marriott International, overlooks Lumpini Park's lakes and lawns.

Interior design studio PIA approached the project with the aim of integrating the brand's global reputation for timeless luxury while resonating with the city's cultural heartbeat. The result is an interior that speaks with quiet confidence, grounded in Thai artistry and woven with sleek, contemporary touches.

From the grand archway arrival leading to the elegant foyer and front hall, the journey is designed to feel personal rather than monumental.

The guest experience is shaped through the creation of what PIA calls 'space inspired', designed to evoke the scale and atmosphere of a private residence. PIA's Executive Partner Niwat Aunprueng explains: “Each zone is connected through a series of gates or thresholds, serving as transitions that guide guests seamlessly from one space to another.”

“Thai artistry is represented as a conversation between past and present,” says Aunprueng. “Traditional motifs are not merely repeated; they are reimagined, given fresh life through a contemporary lens, yet still whisper the stories of their origins. The design draws on the graceful arches of the colonial period, introduced during the reign of King Rama V, when Western ideas first found their way into Thai architecture. These historical gestures are paired with patterns inspired by the dok pikoon, the bullet wood flower, abstracted into forms that feel modern yet rooted in tradition,” he adds.
