A lavish duplex flat in one of Hyderabad's most prestigious hi-rise residential communities located next to a small lake-for most of us, the unique selling point of this home would be breathtaking views, epic vantage points, the verdant greens, sunrises or sunsets, so on and so forth. Breaking stereotypes from the get-go is this titular home 'House on the Lake' designed by founder and principal architect Hanumanth Rao and principal designer Pallavi Reddy of HR Lines. Spread across a mammoth 10,000 sq ft across two levels; this duplex doesn't announce itself, rather it unfolds with every step. Majorly influenced by the tastes and preferences of the homeowner Kavita Reddy's two daughters, it is engineered to be low maintenance without any compromise with its grandeur, design and spatial efficiency.

MATERIAL POETRY

The design team at HR Lines took extensive notes from India’s profound cultural legacy and combined it with the evolving needs of modern families. For both Hanumanth and Pallavi, luxury was never about excess. “Our approach was to create spaces that are opulent yet behave simply as a backdrop to daily life," they explain. Treating it as a fresh narrative canvas, weaving in bespoke elements that fuel intimate stories, they zeroed on an earthy and pastel palette. Grounded yet ethereal, it helped them create the perfect balance that reflects both contemporary sensibilities and timelessness. Wood becomes the protagonist here.
