There’s a thief in Hillside! But this thief isn’t interested in fancy TVs, sparkling jewellery or bags of cash. Instead, the long-fingered resident has one very specific thing on their to-steal list: one man’s sperm – and all fingers will be pointed at Chris Welman (David Rees)!

Chris and his wife Mariaan (Deirdre Wolhuter) have been dreaming recently of becoming grandparents, beaming just thinking about a grandchild. Meanwhile, their daughter Alexa (Carina Nel) and her hubby Fikani (Nicholas Nkuna) have also been discussing parenthood. But Alexa is unable to carry a child of her own after Chris drunkenly crashed into her years earlier and injured her. This leaves our newlywed couple (aka Filexa) with one option: surrogacy. But David says that his character isn’t keen on the arrangement, especially since his younger daughter Amorey (Kristen Raath) has agreed to be the surrogate. “He isn’t happy! He fears that she’ll become attached to the child.”
